I am a proud Minnesotan, working primarily in the Minneapolis area. I earned a B.F.A. degree in Theatre with an emphasis in Musical Theatre from the University of Minnesota-Duluth, and I am currently a member of Actor's Equity Association. My first love was music, and singing has been a part of my daily (if not hourly) life since before I can remember. My mom used to tell me that when I was little I was humming as I drifted off to sleep! While I didn't discover theatre until I was 14 years old, I fell hard and fast for the connection and community fostered by each show. Less than a year after my first rehearsal, I saw West Side Story at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis. It was my first time seeing a professional theatre company; I grew up on my single mother's disability benefits and food stamps, and travel and tickets were a luxury we couldn't afford. After witnessing the incredible talent onstage that night, my feet were staked to the stage. For the first time, I knew exactly what I needed in life: I needed to get up on that stage and inspire other people just as that cast inspired me. After touring the beautiful Duluth U of M campus a year or two later, I had found the path that was meant for me. I am extremely proud to say I accomplished step one of that dream: earning my B.F.A. in Musical Theatre. Next step: Wertele Thrust, or Bust!
